June Chang

June Chang, piano

A native of Taiwan, June is now a Doctoral Piano Performance Candidate at the University of Minnesota.  June studied her undergraduate in National Taiwan Normal University in music education and piano performance.  After teaching general music class in middle school for one year, she came to the States to study with the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition winner, Antonio Pompa-Baldi, at the Cleveland Institute of Music.  Then she went on to attend University of Minnesota, under the instruction of Alexander Braginsky, who is the Artist Director of International Piano-e Competition.  Recently, June has joined MMTA and is pleased with more opportunities for her students.
 
June has taught students of all ages and levels for years and believes music should be fun and expressive.  She has a flexible teaching method to engage every student according to their needs and interests with variety of music styles.  She has experiences preparing her students passing exams, winning competitions, and participating solo/chamber concerts.  Besides teaching, June is also active as a solo and chamber pianist and has won several competitions in Taiwan.
