Kayla Bergeron

Voice

Mikayla received her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Music Education from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota in 2017 and her Master of Arts degree with an emphasis in Voice from the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) in 2019.

While completing her undergraduate degree, Mikayla completed four tours with The Concordia Choir, traveling both the continental United States and internationally to Germany and Switzerland. During her undergraduate experience, Mikayla discovered her love for performing, which propelled her to compete in the National Association of Teachers of Singing voice competitions across Minnesota and North Dakota. During this time she placed first in the Senior Women's Division (2016), first in the Sophomore Women's Division (2014), and first in the Freshman Women's Division (2013).

At UNI, Mikayla studied under Dr. Katherine Osborn while working to receive her Master's degree. During this time she had the opportunity to teach private voice lessons, complete her Teaching Artist Training and perform with the opera ensemble.

To further her leadership style, Mikayla enlisted in the Minnesota Army National Guard as a 91 Foxtrot in 2012. She completed her sixth year as a soldier in 2018 and credits the Army for much of her growth in confidence, timeliness, and goal orientated style of teaching.
