Caitlin began taking piano lessons at the age of 4, after convincing her teacher that she could sit still for an entire lesson. Caitlin grew up outside of Annapolis, MD where she was a student of JoAnna Washburn, graduate of the Peabody Institute and student of Dr. Leon Fleisher, through which she shares a direct student/teacher line to Beethoven. Caitlin became a student of Dr. Paul Wirth after moving to central Minnesota in 2004. After that she went on to the University of Puget Sound where she studied with grammy-nominated pianist Dr. Duane Hulbert, and in 2011 graduated from the College of Saint Benedict with a B.A. in Studio Art and minors in Music and Literary Studies. There, she was a student of Dr. Shannon Loehrke, section leader in the Women's Choir, and performed in piano Master Class with Christopher O'Riley. Caitlin began teaching at the Wirth Center for the Performing Arts in 2015, and continues to play and record music with Dr. Mike Opitz of the College of Saint Benedict. She is excited to join Mount Calvary Academy of Music this Spring/Summer!
