| Performances |
Mount Calvary Academy of Music recitals and performances are opportunities for sharing of musical gifts in Academy recital and community service project settings. The purpose is to teach students to give of their music to enrich the lives of others. Learning the skill of performance and dealing with performance anxiety is a valuable lifetime skill that can transfer over into many areas of public performance, including speaking and leadership.
All performance opportunities are optional.
2010 - 2011 Performance Opportunities:
Fall Term
*Students are invited to consider playing at any Mount Calvary Lutheran Church Sunday morning worship service: 8:15am, 9:30am or 11:00am, or Saturday evening 5pm worship service.
The performance will be placed in the service at the time most appropriate for the selection to be performed. Duets and ensembles are welcome. Contact Mary Lechelt at mary.lechelt@mountcalvary.org if you are an Academy student or teacher interested in this service opportunity
Sunday, October 17 - Academy of Music Sunday at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church 9:30am and 11am Worship
Academy of Music Sunday brings together students and teachers for morning worship services filled with ensembles, solos, any instrument and voice as a service opportunity and contextual experience of sharing your gift and learning with the greater community. This kind of service playing is a lifetime opportunity for musicians of all skill levels, and offers a very specific and purposeful meaning to our expression.
NEW! Salon "Salon": a hall or exhibit for the exhibition of works of art
For students, their friends, and teachers only! Come hear and meet other Academy students on your instrument! Led by instructor, Salons are performance parties to build peer relationships between studios and offer additional performance opportunities. Refreshments mandatory, performance feedback, listening skills, etc...all subject to facilitating instructor's plan!

Sunday, December 5 Holiday Strings in Mount Calvary Atrium
Academy violin students are invited to perform holiday favorites as a group for the Advent Festival between services.
