Music for You! Building connections between AOM students and local composers
Composers have the unique gift of capturing life through music. Be it a special experience, a feeling, an animal, a color, a place or any other imaginable aspect of this world, composers bring all of these wonderful things to life through the sounds of music. All music compositions require a willing performer, who often takes part in the writing process of the composer - exploring the instrument that the piece is written for, and brainstorming about the inspiration of the piece. The opportunity to be part of this organic process that is new music is a wonderful and enriching for all musicians. The Academy of Music is excited to offer Music For You - a program to connect local composers with students for the purpose of creating new music, and enriching the learning and writing process for both student and composer. You have the opportunity to learn and perform music that was created just for you!
