MUSIC THEORY CLASS

Theory Basics!
Want to read music more easily? Understand that key signature? Read intervals faster? Understand chord structure? How about ear training and sight-reading? College-bound and need to fine tune? Want to brush up on your skills for choir? This class is just what you need!

"Singing-Based" Theory
An Academy of Music theory class to further develop musicianship and prepare for Spring auditions!
The singing-based curriculum will benefit vocalists and instrumentalists alike. Included in the class is sight singing, key signatures, hearing/reading/singing intervals, basic orientation to the staff and identifying notes, solfegge, rhythm drills, etc...

ACADEMY THEATER
Our community is rich in its love and support of theater. As an Academy, our vision is to nurture and teach musical skills as a means of creative expression for those things most sacred to each individual, and to encourage students to use these skills as a means of service to enrich the lives of others. Musical theater and drama are highly valued forms of creative expression, and the skill of acting is important to successful shows.

Join instructors Karin Maas and Wendi Haas-Hammond, who directed and produced the Academy's hit summer musicals, "Godspell" in 2009 and "Give My Regards to Broadway" in 2010!
Wear comfortable clothes for movement, bring a snack, your imagination, and lots of energy!

Karin Eitrheim-Maas has been active in theatre arts for the past 25 years. Throughout the midwest Karin has graced the stage as an actress and director in professional, regional, and community theatres. She has worked with adults, high school and elementary students. Karin earned a B.A. Degree in Theatre from Augustana College. She continued her studies at various theatre schools including Northwestern University and Second City of Chicago, and the theatre program at the Eugene O'Neill National Theatre Institute in New London, CT.
Wendi Haas-Hammond has a free resume as Production Coordinator that includes working with Director Ron Howard on movies Apollo 13 and The Paper, as well as dozens of movies in addition to Lost in Yonkers, What About Bob?, Parenthood, and The Dream Team.
